Mutual funds

Money market funds are fixed income mutual funds that invest in debt securities characterized by short maturities and minimal credit risk. 

Fixed income mutual funds own fixed income securities, sometimes called bonds, and can be used to generate income, with the potential for capital preservation. 

Balanced or multi-asset mutual funds invest across asset classes including a mix of stocks and bonds. 

Equity mutual funds invest in stocks across a broad range of sectors, market capitalizations and geographies, such as Canada, the U.S. and global or emerging markets. 

Liquid alternative funds seek returns less correlated with traditional asset classes, and use investment strategies such as short selling, borrowing or derivatives.

Sustainable mutual funds are those that explicitly incorporate environmental, social and/or governance (ESG) factors into the research process to assess a company’s material financial risks and opportunities.
